Raccoonpaw Feels Alone.

Raccoonpaw sat lazily in the camp clearing, his river-blue eyes shining in the moonlight as he lay on his side, letting out a sleepy yawn. The apprentice's looked over to the apprentice den, just to see if Debrispaw would come out and chat. Probably not... he sighed, looking in the other direction at the fresh-kill pile. Raccoonpaw had been hunting all morning, and it really did make him awfully tired, but seeing the whole Clan well-fed with a squirrel or two to spare made him feel accomplished. Raccoonpaw got up and got a small squirrel to eat, since he hadn't noticed how hungry he'd been. He took a small bite, his eyes once again darting to the apprentice den.

Moonleaf padded over to where Racoonpaw was eating his squirrel. She sat down, "I'd like to thank you for all your hard work hunting today," she paused to lick her paw,"And to tell you something you'd like to hear. I just finished discussing matters with Brokenstar, and he has agreed that it is time to asses you." She paused again to finish washing an let it sink in. "He has told me that he will be assessing you tomorrow." She smiled at his shock. "Therefor, I recommend you get plenty of sleep tonight, don't volunteer for dawn patrol, and practice as much as possible. I, however, was strictly told to avoid you once I finish this conversation. So relax, and pace yourself today. I'm not allowed to tell you where you will be hunting, or how you will be hunting, so be prepared." She turned her head when she heard Brokenstar growl. "That's my cue to leave. Good luck." Moonleaf padded away hoping she told Racoonpaw enough.

Raccoonpaw nodded to Moonleaf as his mentor padded away. He had to admit, he was a bit shocked, and he didn't expect to be assessed already, but he was getting happier. Warrior!

Leopardpaw overheard Moonleaf talking to Raccoonpaw, I wonder when I'll be assessed... He sighed as he made his way towards the fresh kill pile.

Moonleaf hissed when Leopardpaw came to the fresh kill pile, "Ahem, in case you haven't realized yet, cats who work get prey. I've seen you on one patrol. Maybe if you work harder, you'll get your warrior name!" she leaned closer and hissed in the apprentice's ear, "But of course, that's a pretty big maybe..."

Raccoonpaw felt slightly worried as Moonleaf made the comment to Leopardpaw. "Do you want to go collect some moss with me?" Raccoonpaw asked the apprentice, trying to stop the conversation before an arguement started.

Moonleaf snorted and padded away to organize a border patrol.

As Moonleaf made the comment, Leopardpaw lashed his tail and was prepared to attack the deputy when suddenly he heard Raccoonpaw ask if he wanted to go collect moss.
"Okay." He meowed simply as he turned towards the other apprentice.

"Great!" Raccoonpaw smiled, turning around and padding out of the camp without looking back to see if Leopardpaw was following.

Leopardpaw followed quietly, trying to leave his doubts at the back of his mind.

Raccoonpaw gently padded out.

As Raccoonpaw was padding outside the camp, Debrispaw ran right into him, unintentionally bashing both her and him to the ground, "Mousedung," She spat softly, trying to pick up the fresh kill that was swept out of her mouth, "Sorry there Raccoonpaw.. I'm in a rush," She mewed, turning her head to the side softly.

Raccoonpaw got up quickly. "Oh! H-hi, Debrispaw," he stuttered. "I... it's okay, I'm fine. Are you okay?" The apprentice then tilted his head a bit. "What're you doing?"

"I just thought if I caught more game, then I'll be assessed quicker." Her strangely colored eyes lowered, " I'm sick of being an apprentice, and no warrior understands anything but 'work for the needy of the clan,' blah blah blah," Debrispaw made a gesture with her hand, impersonating a moving mouth.

((You mean her 'paw'?))

Leaopardpaw spat, "Stupid Furball," before he flicked his tail at Racoonpaw, "Come on! We wont be getting any more moss by standing around and chatting like squirrels." He bounded off, exiting the camp.

OOC: Meh, you knew what I meant, why correct me?

IC: "He has a patience just like a rat!" She snickered into Raccoonpaw's ear softly. "Well, I got to catch some more prey anyways, have fun with Leopardpaw," She mewed, and padded into the camp clearing, placing down her kill into the mildly small pile.

Raccoonpaw watched as Leopardpaw walked off. "I... do you... want to come collect moss with... us?" he suggested nervously.
