Cloudfur's Death (anyone)

Sandstar appeared just as she heard Cloudfur gasp for breath, then quiet. Realizing she was too late, she slowly approached the bedding the dead deputy was lying on.

Featherpaw skidded to a halt, but she was too late. Why? Why Starclan? She bowed her head in respect for the dead deputy.

Sandstar licked the cold deputy's forehead. "I will never forget you..." she whispered. "I...I'm..." she couldn't say anything at that moment, because she was choking up.

Featherpaw could feel an overwhelming sadness almost sweep her away. Oh Starclan... Why?

Sandstar slowly walked out of the medicine cat's den and into hers, collapsed, and started weeping, her head buried in her paws.Oh, Starclan, she thought, Why didn't you take me? I do still have five lives left...You could've taken all my lives, just not our deputy! I should've been the one who stepped....... She slowly lifted her head up, a fierce expression on her face. Stomping out of den, she yelled out, "Sandfeather, Featherpaw, come with me!", then stomped out of the camp.

Sandfeather perked up from the medicine cat den. He was near the back of the crowd, so he could get out easily. Looking back at Cloudfur one last time, he padded out of the medicine cat den. Stopping in the center of the clearing, he looked around to where Sandstar could've gone. Figuring he went outside of camp, he ran out to catch up to her.

Featherpaw was confused, but she easily squirmed around the crowd and followed her leader's scent.
